Caring for others is at the heart of what it means to be a care worker — but what does a typical day in their role really look like? To gain a deeper understanding, we asked one of our dedicated care workers in Huddersfield to complete a short questionnaire about their experiences, responsibilities, and what inspires them in their work. Their honest reflections offer a glimpse into the challenges and rewards of providing compassionate care every day.
I grew up with a passion for working in the health system so after completing my education I worked as a dental nurse for quite a long time. At the same time I was doing part time working in care homes especially for elderly people and children until I finally chose to be a full time carer. So in short it started with passion. I love taking care of people in need.
My typical day is getting up early nearly every morning preparing to go for my daily routine as a carer and spend the day completing my tasks of giving care to our clients.
In my role I am being rewarded by gaining experience in a carer role, fulfilling my passion, getting a lot of love from the people I care for and of course being paid nicely by my company.
Lotus is different from other care providers because it is well managed. Its management team has good communication with the employees. They are easy to work with. They understand our concerns if there are any. The working conditions are good. The wages are good. In short I can say Lotus is my second home.
