Hear It From Our Hospital To Home Care Client's Family

Lotus Home Care Client

"My Mum has always been independent and a stroke rendered her incapable of looking after herself. I have always been reluctant to get carers due to horror stories that you hear on the news. I was recommended Lotus Home Care who met me at the hospital and introduced themselves. Their professionalism and compassion won me over. Lotus advised that they would liaise with the discharge team and occupational therapists to ensure that my mum had the equipment she needed to live comfortably at home. My Mum has warmed up to her carers and I can see the positive impact the carers have had on her".

Lotus Home Care Client

"My Dad was already receiving care from Lotus Home Care when he was admitted to hospital. I was concerned that upon discharge, Lotus wouldn't be able to facilitate his care, as his needs became complex. The staff liaised with the discharge team and they put in effective risk assessments and a completely new care plan to reflect the new care needs of my Dad. Lotus carers aren't just carers who meet care needs, they encourage better living".

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What kind of care can you provide?

At Lotus Home Care, we are passionate about delivering a high quality person centred approach. Our carers are what makes us succeed in what we do. So ensuring all our carers are not only fully trained in all aspects of care delivery but many different training opportunities are provided on an ongoing basis too.

This means we have highly skilled care staff that can safely deliver a multitude of different tasks.

    • Overnight care
    • Dementia care
    • Alzheimer’s care
    • Respite care
    • Bariatric care
    • Palliative care
    • Physical disabilities care
    • Live-in care
    • Learning disabilities care
    • Personal care
    • Convalescence care
  • Do you accommodate overnight calls?

At Lotus Home Care we strive to provide a service that suits all individuals. Delivering a good care service is not always just during the day, this includes providing a high-quality service during night time hours as well.

We provide waking nights, where a carer will be alert to any care duties and available for the full night-time period to assist with care. We also provide sleeping nights; this is a great service if yourself or family member needs support during the night but only occasionally.

This also gives individuals the reassurance that there is someone else there for them if needed, it also gives relatives that peace of mind.

    • Overnight care is when a carer stays in your home overnight to attend to your normal activities of daily living.
    • Care needs don’t stop at the end of the working day and fortunately for many who need help, neither does caregiving.
    • Having access to trained staff through the night is essential for many complex medical conditions or when an individual is recuperating from an illness.
    • For families, knowing that a loved one has to spend the night alone can be a concern.
    • If a situation occurs during in the small hours, and no-one is present to act quickly, it could easily lead to an emergency situation.
    • Loved ones may not always have a personal care alarm to send an alert for assistance, but with professional support present, such fears are put to bed.
    • The primary benefit of overnight care is that individuals who may be anxious or lonely are able to rest well and get a good night’s sleep.
