Supporting your loved ones during Coronavirus

With the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), our services at Lotus Home Care are in great demand. Not only are we helping our amazing service users, but also making ourselves available to help people in their own homes, enabling local hospitals across Yorkshire and the Humber to free up beds. We have positioned ourselves to be the first line of defence for our amazing NHS and will help in whatever way we can to relieve pressures from therein.

We have all of our team members on hand tackling this complexity and supporting any concerned service user, authority, NHS Trust and team member.

As a company, our number one priority is the health and wellbeing of our staff and our service users. We are monitoring Coronavirus symptoms daily across both groups, to ensure that these remain isolated so that we, as a leading and caring organisation, can continue to thrive and support those in need.

To date, we have taken the following steps to minimise the risk to our staff and service users:

  • At Lotus Home Care, our hygiene standards are always a top priority, however, with the virus, we have asked staff to increase their cleaning routines. This includes washing hands, using disinfectant sprays and alcohol wipes, both in-branch and when on visits.
  • We have installed posters throughout our branches reminding staff to increase their cleanliness.
  • We have a dedicated management team monitoring the situation with calls routed to their mobiles and homes.
  • We have ordered additional supplies of personal protective clothing and have face masks for if anyone is diagnosed with Covid-19.
  • Our management team are closely watching the latest advice from the government, local authorities and CQC and will make the necessary changes as time goes on. You can find out more here –

Our plans for the coming weeks:

As previously mentioned we are closely monitoring any updates from the Government and will continue to do so, and in turn will adjust the way we work in line with this advice.

We know this will be a challenging time for all, but in particular our clients that are over 70 years of age. We will always do our utmost to ensure clients are safe and protected. We have reached out to local authorities and hospitals explaining that our teams are on hand to help the most vulnerable.
