Approved Trainer for The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training

As an approved trainer for The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training, we deliver accredited sessions to care organisations across the UK. Our trainers bring real frontline experience from our own homecare services, so the learning lands with practical examples your team will recognise. Each session is co-delivered with people who have lived experience of learning disability and autism, meeting the Health and Care Act 2022 standard in full. We also offer a wider catalogue of mandatory and specialist training, from induction to dementia awareness.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which course is right for me?

If you’re not sure, start with the role rather than the course. Induction suits new starters, Refreshers keep existing staff up to date, and our Stage 2 specialist courses cover specific care needs like dementia, end-of-life and learning disability and autism. Get in touch and we’ll talk through your team’s roles and recommend the right programme.

  • What's the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2?

Stage 1 covers the core mandatory training every care worker needs, including Moving and Handling, Medication Management, First Aid and Food Hygiene. Stage 2 is specialist training for staff supporting more complex needs, including Oliver McGowan Tier 2, Dementia Awareness, End of Life Care and Positive Behaviour Support.

  • Do you offer group bookings?

Yes, and most of our training is delivered to whole teams either at your premises or at ours. Group bookings work out more cost-effective per learner and mean your staff train together, which helps embed the learning in day-to-day practice. Get in touch for a quote based on your group size.

  • How long does each course take?

Most courses run as either a half day or a full day, with Induction taking two days. The exact length is shown on each course card above. Sessions can be scheduled to suit shift patterns, including back-to-back days or split across weeks.

  • How do I book a place?

Fill in our short enquiry form and we’ll come back to you within one working day with available dates and a quote.
